Meet The Board

Maddie Simmons
​
Maddie brings a wealth of expertise to our team as a Human Resources professional with degrees in psychology and extensive experience working with children as a behavior interventionist.

Christy Scott
​
Our Founder Christy Scott is also on the Board of Directors. Christy is a human resources professional similar to Maddie. Christy additionally has helped be a disability adcoate for those who are expiercing discrimination in Title I and III of ADA. Along with being a service dog trainer christy brings a wealth of knowlede to the team.

Claire Schulz
​
Claire has been professionally training dogs for 7 years. Their journey and passion began when they learned they qualified for a service dog themselves. Now, alongside their fully trained black lab Pluto and their yellow lab in training, Winnie, they’re helping others navigate that same path through their work with Cosmic Service Dogs.

Mari Quinones
​
Mari brings a powerful combination of lived experience and professional expertise to our work. As a service dog handler and advocate for multi-marginalized handlers, Mari helps ensure our policies and practices reflect true inclusivity.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration and Sociology with a focus on Disability Studies, and holds a Bachelor’s in Sociology. Mari’s work is deeply rooted in intersectional theory, spanning academic, activist, and policy spaces.
We’re so excited for the impact Mari will make as we continue building equity, access, and excellence in the assistance dog community.
