Building Unbreakable Bonds Between Dogs and Their People

Founded in 2022 by Christy Scott, Dauntless Companions is more than just a training service. We are a purpose driven committed to restoring harmony in homes, empowering dog-handler teams, and supporting the advancement of service dog partnerships. Christy is also the founder of the International Assistance Dog Alliance (IADA), a global initiative dedicated to raising the bar for assistance dog standards and accreditation. Her work at Dauntless Companions is deeply informed by that same vision: ensuring that every dog and handler has access to ethical, effective, and evidence-based support.

About the Founder

With a foundation in both traditional and progressive approaches to dog training, Christy Scott brings unmatched breadth and depth of experience. She began her mentorship in 2019, working alongside respected professionals across multiple disciplines ranging from sports, hunting, family pet, and service dog trainers. This multifaceted background gave her a unique perspective: that no single method fits every dog, and that flexibility and empathy are critical to lasting success.

Christy holds professional certification in canine aggression and fear through the acclaimed Aggressive Dog program by Michael Shikashio, one of the world’s leading experts in the field. She is especially skilled at working with complex behavioral challenges, including aggression, reactivity, and fear-based behaviors.

Over the years, Christy has:

  • Helped dogs earn titles and certifications in obedience and performance sports

  • Supported the development of fully functioning service dog teams, including task training and public access readiness

  • Guided families through the rehabilitation of high-risk behavior cases, creating peace and understanding where there was once stress and fear.

Through Dauntless Companions, she channels all of that experience into one mission: to help dogs and people succeed together, sustainably, and with compassion.

Behavior Rehabilitation

At IADA, we recognize that not every training journey is straightforward. Sometimes dogs face challenges that require extra care and expertise whether it’s a service dog recovering from an attack or a dog working through unique behavioral concerns. Our founder, Christy, occasionally takes on specialized behavior rehabilitation cases to support dogs and handlers who need a tailored approach. Because this work is highly individualized and intensive, availability is limited, and cases are accepted on a selective basis. If you are interested in behavior rehabilitation support, please reach out in advance to discuss your dog’s needs and determine whether Christy is able to assist at this time.

A Public Service Commitment: Free Testing

As part of our partnership with the International Assistance Dog Alliance, Dauntless Companions is proud to offer free behavioral and skills testing for dogs preparing to earn accreditation through the IADA framework. Whether you're training a service dog independently or working with an organization, these assessments provide structured benchmarks and validation for your team's progress at no cost. This initiative reflects our commitment to accessibility, accountability, and fairness in the world of assistance dogs. We believe that no one should be excluded from ethical training and evaluation due to financial limitations.

Our Philosophy

We believe that:

  • Every dog is capable of learning when given support.

  • Fear and aggression are not flaws, but messages and we are here to listen and respond with skill and compassion

  • Dog training is not about control, but cooperation, trust, and mutual understanding

  • Service dogs deserve the highest standards in training, welfare, and respect

  • Families deserve peace, clarity, and a support system they can rely on

At Dauntless Companions, we train with heart, heal with knowledge, and build partnerships that last a lifetime.
